Initiating movement from the front body and the back body has very different qualities and consciousness.
Embryologically, our yolk sac (gut tube, digestive and respiratory organs, nourishment) develops from our front body, while our amniotic cavity (nervous system, outer layer of skin, protection) develops from our back body.
Explore initiating movement from your front body (yolk sac) and your back body (amniotic cavity). What is your experience of each? How does your quality of movement, sense of self, and consciousness shift when you are in your front body and when you are in your back body?
This clip is from Bonnie’s online course Embodying the Embryological Foundations of Movement.
